So the only way I can record is by watching what Im recording, or leaving it on, while I do something else, and no one can watch the TV. I cant because I have to imput a station when programming it and I cant program the "video line" option. With the VCR, i have to change that to "Video Line" and I get to see whats on cable! Ive tested recorded and it works fine, but I cant set the timer! This sucks because I miss alot of stuff and I have to set the timer to record things. So when I want to watch the VCR and record, I put the tv on channel 3 and it turns all snowy (since its hooked to component). My Cable is hooked into Component 2 (as opposed to Video 1) and my DVD player, Component 1. The only problem is that I cant hook up the "white" colored RCA cable to the back of the VCR because theres no input! Odd that it still works. I got it to work, I hooked up the back of the Cable box to the back of the VCR using RCA cables. I tried going through the manual and its steps of starting everything back up from scratch, but thats useless since I have to press a power button and wait for a green light to come on and not even that will happen. Its not my TV because we can see the movies on the VCR fine, as well as DVDs. Note that some DVD/VCR will not feed the VCR through these so you may need to use composite video and audio. So I started messing around with the box by pressing the power button on the remote on and off to see if it would kick back in, but it ended up completely dying. Connect DVD/VCR to TV with HDMI or if not available component video and audio cables. I couldnt see anything or change stations or anything. Theres a red and white Video Out outlet on back of the box, and it says "Audio Out - VCR" Theyre boxed in to show they go together, But theres a yellow outlet a few connections over from the boxed in outlets and it just says "Video Out" So Im guessing thats the way I should go.Īnd in a bit of bad, and F**ked up news, there was NO picture this morning, just audio (I never messed with anything last night). But Im thinking that I should go the RCA cables way. And if it matters, my VCR is a Magnavox (main VCR, an RCA is below it for copying from VCR to VCR)
